Staff
The staff at the Soccer Academy of St. Stephen's consists of full-time, professional, soccer people. Campers train with Nationally And Internationally Licensed Coaches with a proven coaching methodology endorsed by US-SOCCER and US Youth Soccer. Our commitment in everything we do is to the development of the individual child. Our camp is no different. Our belief is children participate in sports to fulfill certain basic needs: movement, self-esteem, and participation. Simply put: Kids play because it is fun. Our staff, trained in coaching and facilitating players under the age of 14, creates a dynamic environment that allows each individual child to fill these needs and increase their soccer abilities. This is accomplished by designing developmentally appropriate environments based on children’s social, cognitive, and physical abilities. In short, children participate in games and activities that utilize appropriate soccer and cognitive skills and allow them to learn, develop, and most importantly, have fun. Again, our goal is to help insure their long-term participation in the game of soccer by making the game fun.

Session 3 Soccer Academy Residential Camp
Dates June 27 - July 1, 2010
Type Boarding
Who Boys & Girls
Ages 11-16
Tuition $500
The Soccer Academy player development philosophy fosters growth as complete players and people. This occurs in a fun, highly competitive, and strongly committed environment, equipping players to demand the best of them selves both on and off the field.
Players will learn to absorb technical and tactical ideas from training exercises and incorporate them into game play. During the camp players will train in small technical sessions, the focus of which is refinement of the technical aspects of soccer through constant repetition and instruction both in non-pressure and pressure situations. Soccer players solve problems as they arise in games. The ability to solve these problems is developed through small sided games, where specific situations arise much more frequently than in full sized games. Futsol is widely used to assist with tactical development.
Nestled in the hills of Westlake, Austin and surrounded by some 400 acres of untouched Hill Country, St. Stephen’s presents both beauty and peace of mind to parents with gated entrance and 24hr security. Campers will stay in the St. Stephen’s Dormitories with all meals provided in the school Cafeteria.
