This includes lodging, meals and all camp activities, but does not include travel to and from camp. The camp is limited so please register early.
This is designated as the Junior National Development Camp for 16-24yo athletes interested in learning about or increasing their knowledge in the sport of triathlon. Athletes will be divided into groups by gender, ability, and age. Coaches will be assigned to the groups and will be present with their group at all times. The camp director is Michael Bland, is a level 2 USAT coach. Coach Michael has been the director of three USA Triathlon National Camps as well as worked at 10 National and Regional Camps.

Camp Closes at 12:00 pm on Saturday June 28, 2008 after the ATS Sprint Triathlon held on St. Stephen's campus. You will receive a discount for the race after registering for the Junior National Camp.
USAT Sanctioned
This camp is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants are required to join USA Triathlon as annual members and show proof of membership at check-in (bring your membership card and photo id!). USA Triathlon
Triathlon Race
Athletes will compete in a race that Saturday that Team ATS will host at St. Stephen's Episcopal School.
Staff
The camp will be staffed by at least 10 USA Triathlon Certified Coaches at all times. There will be a 1:10 coach to athlete ratio. We will have at least 4 female coaches on staff. Read about USAT certified coaching here. The camp is directed by USAT Level I, and an elite coach of 2008 USAT Certified staff.
Safety and Supervision
All training sessions will be supervised by a minimum of 2 USAT certified coaches and swim sessions will be monitored by at least 2 certified lifeguards.
Camper Experience/Ability Levels
No prior race experience is necessary to participate in this camp. Athletes should have basic bike handling abilities, such as mounting and dismounting the bike, cornering and braking safely, and obeying all traffic laws. We will divide up into groups of 4 or less for all bike rides, with each group led by a USAT certified coach.
Camp requirements
- All athletes must:
Be USAT members (membership form)
Be between 15-19yo as of December 31st of 2008
Have a signed waiver to the camp director 2 weeks prior to camp
Obey all camp rules while attending camp
The waiver and the camp rules will be sent out to all athletes 2 weeks prior to the camp via email and will need to be signed and mailed back. It is strongly recommended that all athletes keep copies of this and bring them with them to camp.
Items to bring
- Athletes are required to bring their own triathlon equipment to camp including:
- Swim suit and goggles
- Wetsuit (optional)
- Running clothes and shoes
- Bicycle (any type)
- Helmet
- Linens will be provided.
An ample supply of performance snacks and energy drinks will be available for athletes throughout the day. Athletes are encouraged to bring their favorite snacks and some spending money for trips to the convenience store.
Accommodations
Boarding athletes and coaching staff will be housed in a residence hall at St. Stephen's Episcopal School. Athletes will receive room assignments according to age, gender, and specific roommate requests. Linens will be provided.
Meals
Three meals per day will be provided at the campus dining hall, beginning with dinner on Monday and ending with Lunch on Sunday. An ample supply of performance snacks and energy drinks will be available for athletes throughout the day. Athletes are encouraged to bring their favorite snacks and some spending money for trips to the convenience store on campus.

Grades 2-10 (ages 7-15)

This includes lodging, meals, all camp activities and the Belterra Triathlon Race, but does not include travel to and from camp.
Under the supervision of an expert coaching staff, participants take part in daily swim, bike, and run workouts. Athletes receive one-on-one, sport-specific instruction, as well as lessons in goal setting, the art of balancing school sports and triathlon training, race strategy and triathlon competition. Emphasis will be placed on developing correct bike handling skills and road safety. Athletes will enjoy getting to know peers who share a similar interest and passion for the sport of triathlon. Youth athletes of all experience levels are welcome. The camp has been designated a 2007 Youth National Development Triathlon Camp.

Youth Triathlon Race
All athletes 14 under will can entered into the ATS Kids Triathlon race on Saturday, June 28th at 7:30 am at the site of the National Camp. There will be an age groper race as well, ATS Sprint Triathlon after the Kids Tri. For more information please go to www.teamats.com

The St Stephens coaches covers the fills all water stations, provide first aid and any thing that the coaches and athletes needs.

Athletes may have any type of bicycle. A bike and helmet safety check will be conducted on the first day of camp. Participants will receive a complete list of necessary equipment prior to arrival.
